Executive Officer

The position of Executive Officer requires a mix of leadership and management skills. He or she must have or quickly acquire a sound understanding of the Independent School sport ethos and competition and have the respect of SATIS delegates and sporting staff of the colleges. It is important that the Executive Officer follow not only the letter of SATIS law, but also the spirit.


The Executive Officer will liaise closely with the Chair of SATIS in:

keeping the Chair informed of SATIS issues;
the preparation and conduct of meetings;
in the resolution of exemptions from regulations;
 the interpretation of regulations.

As part of general duties the Executive Officer will:

keep the records of the Association;

keep minutes of all meetings of SATIS;

prepare the agenda for all SATIS meetings;

act as a central office for all matters which affect the Constitution and sports fixtures;

be responsible for the organization and co-ordination of SATIS. fixtures and finals, liaising as necessary with regional bodies;

draw up rosters for all statewide SATIS sporting fixtures;

maintain the SATIS budget and provide documentation for school levies to AHISA for the following year at the final meeting of the year;

promote and maintain the SATIS web site and be active in finding ways to improve the site;

ensure that the regulations as published on the SATIS web-site are accurate and up-to-date;

promote SATIS sporting competitions and results in the media;

liaise with NSATIS and SSATIS;

prepare reports and submissions as required by AHISA (Tas).
