Qualifying Players for Finals
To qualify to play in a final a player must have played at least half of the roster matches played by the team contesting the final. In the event of "qualified" players being unable to play a replacement player can be drawn from a nominated list of replacements which has been forwarded to the Roster Secretary once finalists have been determined. This list to be on the pro-forma sheet designed for this purpose. Replacement players are not to be of a higher standard than the competition they are entering.

Anomalies in the list of of replacement players will be forwarded to the S. SATIS Chairperson.

Rosters - 2008

A final will be played between 1st and 2nd teams on the ladder at the end of the season. This applies to all rosters.
 

1. Rosters

a. A draft copy of all rosters is to be distributed to participating schools for approval.

b. All published rosters are to be dated.

c. Requests for changes to rosters and/or inclusion or withdrawal of teams must be made within 5 days of a draft roster being published.

d. If one full round is not completed a semi-final will be played.

e.Rosters will include as many rounds as possible. Consideration will be given to other sporting seasons/rosters, term dates and sporting "load" on students in determining roster length.

f. If 11 or more teams are entered in any roster there shall be 2 divisions.

g. Where a school enters 2 or more teams in any roster one team must be nominated for Division 1.

2.Finals

a. Rosters conducted for Years 7 - 10 will culminate in a Grand Final between the top two teams.

b.Drawn Grand Finals

For Years 7 -10 the teams should share the premiership.

1st and 2nd Grades should play extra time where possible within the guidelines of a particular sport, otherwise the team on top of the ladder at the end of the roster shall be the winner.

c. Washed Out Grand Final

For 1st and 2nd Grade the team on top of the ladder shall be the winner.

For Years 7-10 the final shall be shared.

d.Drawn or Washed Out Semi-Finals

The team higher on the ladder shall go through to the Grand Final.

NOTE: In sporting rosters conducted by SATIS in which only two teams are entered and which culminate in a STATE Final, a best of three match series will be played to determine the State Finalist.

3.Grand Final Venues

The best available venue should be used.

The higher placed team, at the conclusion of a roster of the teams contesting a Grand Final will select the venue for Grand Final.

4a. Point score

The point score for all rosters except tennis will be
Win = 5
Draw = 3
Loss = 1
Washout = 3
Forfeit = 5.

4b. Match Ratio will be used to determine ladder positions.
Match Ratio = points scored divided by matches played

5. Cancellations and Forfeits

For midweek rosters schools must notify the appropriate school of any forfeits by 12 noon on the roster day.

Cancellations due to inclement weather must be made as soon as possible.

6.First Aid at Venues

Each school is responsible for supplying each team with a first aid kit and cold pack.

7.For swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals a wet weather committee shall be appointed. Should this committee consider it impossible to conduct the meeting as arranged it will recommend alternatives to the association.

8.Results of swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals should be sent to all competing schools within one month of these carnivals. These results should include, where appropriate, age group winners, point scores and overall totals. Times or distances for all competitors should be included.

9. All teams playing in a second grade roster will be eligible for semi-finals and finals. Schools which have more than one team playing in a second grade roster are to forward team registrations to the Roster secretary once each of its teams has played TWO matches.

10. If a school is unable to uniform teams/individuals in accepted school uniform for Athletics, Swimming and/or Cross Country the Chair. of SATIS(South) is to be notified prior to the event. Organisers will then be notified.

11. For all SSATIS carnivals the computer scores will be accepted as the correct scores at the conclusion of the carnival.

12. The costs incurred by a school organising carnivals will be met by S.SATIS. Program production costs are for paper and "in-house" photocopying.

13. When an S.SATIS Roster does not have a perpetual trophy a pennant will be presented to the Premiership team at the conclusion of the Grand Final or following the final roster match if there is no Grand Final

14. In all sports, the organising secretary is not to be confronted by those associated with the sport in each school. Any approach is to be made by the SATIS delegate or their nominated representative.

15. In the event of a team not having adult supervision at the commencement time of a match they will forfeit the match. Continued failure to meet this regulation will result in removal from the roster. If extenuating circumstances have led to this situation application to the Chair., S.SATIS can be made for a ruling.

16. When S.SATIS does not provide umpires for a fixture each participating team must provide an umpire who takes their turn at umpiring within the parameters of the sport.

17. If a school plays an illegible player in any team the fixture shall be forfeited to the opposition.

18. For all 1st and 2nd rosters the actual score sheet is to be faxed/sent to the particular roster secretary.

19. If a player is named as a starting player in a first team, then until that team plays again, that student may not play for a lower team. A player who is named as a substitute for a first team, and who does not take the field in the first half, except in the case of injury, may play for a lower team the following game.

20. A player listed in a 2nd team, either as a player or a reserve, may not play for another team in that same division). Where a school has two teams in a roster players must be registered for and play with one team only.

However in the event of extraordinary circumstances arising, which are not addressed by the above regulation, application can be made through the roster secretary to the Chair of SSATIS for consideration.

21. There will be a stated date for close of entries for swimming, rowing and athletics and no additional entries will be accepted after that date.

22. In all rosters except for 1st and 2nd Grade, students can play up from their registered team but once they have played for three matches they cannot play down.

23. In all sports 1st and 2nd rosters, except where seeding occurs, once a player has played more than half the roster in the 1sts, she cannot return to the 2nds team.
